Home-Based Family Education & Support

In-home support for families across Malheur County

Our home-based family education and support services bring guidance and connection directly to families in their homes. Designed for parents and caregivers who may not be able to access center-based services, this free service provides flexible, relationship-based support where families live and grow.

Program Overview

Meeting families where they are

Our home-based family education and support staff work directly with families in their homes to provide hands-on guidance, model healthy routines, and support everyday challenges. By working within each family’s environment, support is tailored to meet their unique needs—whether that means helping a child navigate big emotions, connecting families to community resources, or offering encouragement during stressful times.

Families receiving home-based support have access to the same wraparound services available through our classrooms. Support may include:

A man and child are baking cookies in a kitchen; another child stands nearby.
Hollow blue-green star with five points.
A small, blurry, golden star.
Person handing document to another person.

How It Works

Families can reach out directly or be connected through community partners. Once connected, a member of our team works with each family to schedule regular visits that fit their needs.

During visits, staff provide guidance, model everyday routines such as mealtimes or bedtime, and support parents in building practical, achievable goals. Developmental screenings may be used when helpful, and families are connected to additional supports—such as Early Intervention or TAC—if needed.
