Shelley York can’t stop thinking about children. When TVCRN’s newest interventionist isn’t in the therapeutic classroom or on a home visit, she’s likely in a class discussing children (she is working on her associate’s degree in early childhood education) or taking an online training related to a specific need one of the children in her caseload has. If she isn’t engaged in one of those activities, you may find her on the Pinterest website  –  searching for activities for preschoolers.

“I love working with the children here at the nursery! I love getting down on the floor with them and reading books or playing cars,” Miss Shelley says. “I enjoy talking with their parents, too.

“The Relief Nursery, to me, is a really special place,” Shelley observes. “Toddlers and young children have a place to go where they will get extra attention and be cuddled if they want, and their parents can take a little time for themselves.”

Raised in Fortuna, Calif., Shelley is an Ontario resident who enjoys listening to heavy metal music, which may seem in contrast to her vegan lifestyle. She likes to spend time with her husband and grandson, and her four dogs.
